Client: Oxymoron Podcast

Problem:

The Oxymoron Podcast needed to monetize their content and sought to expand by hosting live podcast events.

Formula

Our prescriptive FORMULA: Unique product + Unique experience = Bums in seats.
This replicable FORMULA is what we at Media 21 use to solve our clients' challenges.

Strategy

With a dedicated marketing budget, we produced a TV series for The Oxymoron Podcast focused on the widely relevant topic of 'Let's Talk Mental Health' to boost global exposure. We leveraged this momentum as a conversation starter, creating an avenue for broader discussions through live in-person events, which led to multiple sold-out shows in Edmonton, Alberta.
At these events, we also implemented lead generation strategies by collecting email data from attendees, setting up The Oxymoron Podcast with a robust mailing list. This not only engaged their audience but also significantly reduced advertising costs for the launch of their next podcast.

Results

This formula proved incredibly effective in driving both audience growth and revenue.
Social media impressions: Significantly grew their follower base across platforms.
Ticket sales: Successfully sold out live podcast events.
Broadcast deal: Secured a TV broadcast deal with Telus Optik TV to showcase the podcast series.
